How to Redact PDFs

Permanently black out sensitive content in your PDFs. Once applied, redacted content is completely removed from the file data.

Step 1: Upload Your PDF

Open editor.swiftpdflab.com and upload the document containing sensitive information.

Step 2: Select the Redact Tool

Click Redact in the sidebar. This activates the redaction mode where you can mark areas to permanently remove.

Step 3: Mark Sensitive Areas

Click and drag to draw rectangles over the content you want to redact. You can mark text, images, signatures, account numbers, or any other sensitive data. Mark as many areas as needed across all pages.

Step 4: Apply and Download

Click Apply Redactions to permanently black out the marked areas. The underlying content is completely removed from the PDF data, not just covered visually. Download your redacted document.

Important

Redaction permanently removes content from the PDF. Once applied and downloaded, the original content cannot be recovered. Always keep a backup of the original file.
