How to Compress PDFs

Reduce your PDF file size without sacrificing quality. SwiftPDFLab compresses PDFs entirely in your browser with no server uploads.

Step 1: Upload Your PDF

Go to editor.swiftpdflab.com and upload the PDF you want to compress.

Step 2: Select Compress Tool

Click Compress in the sidebar. The tool analyzes your PDF and shows the current file size.

Step 3: Choose Quality Level

Select your compression level: Low for maximum file size reduction, Medium for a balance of quality and size, or High to preserve maximum quality with moderate compression.

Step 4: Download

Click Compress to process the file, then Download your smaller PDF. The tool shows you both the original and compressed file sizes for comparison.

When to Compress

Compression is ideal for email attachments, web uploads, and archiving. PDFs with many images benefit the most from compression.
