How to Annotate PDFs

SwiftPDFLab Editor includes a full suite of annotation tools. Highlight text, draw freehand, add shapes, sticky notes, callouts, measurements, and watermarks.

Step 1: Open Your PDF

Go to editor.swiftpdflab.com and upload the PDF you want to annotate.

Step 2: Select an Annotation Tool

Click Annotate in the sidebar. Choose from: Highlight to mark text, Draw for freehand sketches, Shapes for rectangles, circles, and lines, Sticky Notes for comments, Callouts for labeled arrows, and Measure for distances.

Step 3: Customize Your Annotations

Change colors, line thickness, opacity, and font size using the options panel. Each annotation type has its own set of customizable properties.

Step 4: Add Watermarks

Use the Watermark tool to add text or image watermarks across pages. Customize position, rotation, and opacity.

Step 5: Download

Click Download to save your annotated PDF. All annotations are embedded directly into the file.

Pro Tip

Use keyboard shortcuts to switch between tools faster. Annotations are non-destructive until you download the final PDF.
